Right from the start of Chamilia Malta Fashion Awards in the Marsa Shipyard building, I’m warmly greeted by the Chamilia family into the VIP area and I must say the view from here is just spectacular. I am wearing a specially designed dress with Swarovski crystals and inspired by Dolce & Gabbana.

This year’s grand final is so far the largest and most glamorous than ever and I totally understand the choice of indoor place as the weather would have ruined the event should it have been outdoors. However, I should say SmartCity last year really rocked and was as fabulous.

The Awards ceremony did not only offer a concise version of the whole week and all designers that we saw but included various fashion shows and interesting performances. I missed the new designers forming part of it, yet a very talented young designer won the award for this year’s best New designer – Gaetano. Although the organizers made a great choice I would love to see an international designer also winning such award and in my opinion there were a few other excellent new designers.

I know what an effort and coordination it takes and how many countless hours are spent into organizing a fashion week and such a fabulous final event, however I was a bit surprised to see the same female model, the same photographer and the same blogger winning the awards all over again. I believe that Malta offers a great choice of talented artistic people be it photographers, models, stylist and bloggers, therefore for the next editions of Malta Fashion Week I really hope to see others talents grabbing Awards for their talents.

To finish with, the after party offered a really amazing crowd and FashionTv presence on top of that. It was lovely talking to some of the designers following the show and it was a truly great night.
