Monaco is the second smallest independent state in the world, surrounded by France and gracefully positioned between the Alpes Maritimes and the Mediterranean. This two kilometers of the Cote d’Azur are the most exciting pit lane stop for F1 enthusiasts. It is a must on the luxury destinations itinerary with its advantageous tax regime, architectural beauty and favorable climate.

The best way to enjoy the Formula 1 Grand Prix racetrack is of course chartering a yacht, but bear in mind prices for divulging into the relaxing and soaking atmosphere of those beauties in the photos start at 120k per week.

For those of you who prefer the luxury of a hotel there is plenty of choice of course but booking in advance is highly recommendable as prices during this weekend may skyrocket. My favorites include Columbus hotel, formerly owned by David Coulthard and where many of the F1 teams opt to stay during the racing weekend, Monte-Carlo Beach hotel, another choice of the F1 crowd and Monte-Carlo Bay hotel, situated very close to Jimmyz. Hotel Metropole with its Michelin star restaurant by Joel Robuchon, another restaurant designed by Karl Lagerfeld and the only ESPA spa in France might well be the experience you are after, in view of its proximity to shops and Monte-Carlo Pavillions. Hotel de Paris is probably the best place to enjoy the race and get to know interesting people but you must be ready to pay a high price for this exclusivity.

Great parties never stop in the small principality and there is a mix for each and everyone. Must stops include huge boat parties taking place on many of the team principles owned yachts, Red Bull racing parties, Amber Lounge of course, but also those unrelated to racing such as Saas, Buddha Bar and Jimmyz. Dress code is always fabulous and no matter where you go you are never overdressed. This year’s Amber Lounge presented quite astonishing styles and was amazing show and after party.

This year’s race was particularly interesting and it also coincided with the Cannes Film Festival but later on on this one. Nico Rosberg managed to grab the trophy and show what is he capable of on his home ground, he is a resident of Monaco after all.
