Preview Couture by Gaetano
Today I present to you a young promising designer who puts a lot of passion and emotion in his work and the result is absolutely stunning. I think any woman would love to posses one of his designs because they emphasize the feminine beauty in every possible way. I definitely believe that Gaetano will one day be making a success not only in Malta but also internationally because his designs do not stand below those of famous designers such as Blumarine, D & G any many other international celebrities. In this short interview Gaetano shares a bit more about what inspires him as a designer.
1: What inspired you for the collection that you will be presenting during Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week 2015?
The main inspiration for the collection I will be presenting during the Marcedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week 2015, is the woman herself. This collection is based on today’s woman. I want her to feel empowered, comfortable, sexy and herself like she can rule the world.
2: What are the main trends this season in your opinion?
I don’t really follow any trends I tend to go with the style of the person and mix them up to give a touch of my style. Furthermore I think that high wasted bellbottom trousers are making a comeback.
3: What inspired you to create Couture by Gaetano?
I get inspired by everything, you can find inspiration everywhere, my main inspiration has always been music.
4: Is this the first time you participate in Malta Fashion Week and have you also participated in any other Fashion events abroad?
This is my first time to participate in Malta Fashion Week although I did other fashion shows locally.
5: Which international brands do you follow or inspire you?
Zuhair Murad, Ellie Saab ,Versace and recently I really like what Michael Costello is doing.
6: Do you have plans to expand outside of Malta?
I don’t have any plans for now, I love Malta but nobody can ever say what will happen in the future.
7: Do you also design bridesmaid’s dresses?
Yes I do … I think that as a designer the wedding industry in Malta is quite good, a lot of brides, bridesmaids and mothers of the bride or groom love to have their garments made especially for that special day.
8: What would you like to achieve, what are your future plans and is there a brand which success you would like to follow?
Like all the new designers I would love to win the best new designer award. As for the future, I would like to continue with my career as a fashion designer and like everyone else to make my name a successful brand. I think locally Charles and Ron have reached and achieved a lot. I really look up to them they are such an inspiration to all of us.
